Making Connections: Your Health Club

Every single person is always complaining about the fact that it is so hard to meet people in this day and age. They bemoan the fact that clubs, bars and similar scenes do not have the caliber of people they are looking to meet. If you are tired of picking up women that are only interested in the next party, it is time to start investigating other avenues.

One place that is often overlooked when it comes to finding women to date is your health club. There are tons of advantages to meeting a woman at your health club. If you don't belong to one, this is a good time to start. Women who take the time to add visits to their health club are usually more fitness conscious and enjoy other activities besides drinking and partying.

This does not mean that you can't take a woman that you meet at the health club out for cocktails, it just means that she might have wider interests than some of the women you met last weekend at the bar. There are plenty of ways to scope out the women in a health club without being too obvious.

Most health clubs have mirrors placed everywhere, so you can watch others without being overly noticeable. If you see a woman checking out your form in the mirror with admiration, this is a great way to flirt a little bit and decide if you want to be more interested in her. Use the mirrors to your advantage.

Another way to meet women at the health club is to put yourself in her general vicinity. Get on the treadmill beside her, lift free weights next to the exercise machine she is using, or attend the same spinning class that she is in. You don't have to be obvious, either. This is a good way to get her to notice you.

Classes provide you with the opportunity to speak with her before or after the class, and if you both attend regularly, you can build on your flirtation on a weekly basis. You can also grab her a towel, pick up her water bottle or some other little task.

Flattery will get you everywhere. However, the caution here is to make sure that the flattery is genuine. Most women will see through phony flattery right away because they have heard it before. Also, it is important to be specific. You can’t just tell her she looks great. You need to tell her what she is doing well.

The best thing about exercise is that it releases endorphins, those hormones that make you feel good and put you in a fantastic mood. Women who have been exercising will be feeling the same way.

This is a great time to ask a woman to have a smoothie at the drink bar with you or meet for a drink later or coffee on the weekend. She will be in a good mood and less likely to view your offer with a critical eye. Plus, you have the added benefit of being a member of the same health club, so you are not a complete stranger.
