You need to broach the subject when you feel certain that sex is the next step in your relationship, but before the actual event. Responsible people discuss birth control, period. If you aren't responsible enough to discuss birth control, you are not responsible enough to be having sex.

What should a guy say after sex? It is easy and even slightly biological for a guy to go to sleep fairly quickly after sex. However, women do not generally do the same thing. Especially if it is your first time having sex, it is important to say a few things afterward so you don't leave your partner wondering if you enjoyed yourself or if they did something wrong.

You don't have to engage in an analysis of every single moment, but you can let her know that it felt good. You can also be specific about what you especially liked or enjoyed. Doing so is a good way to lead into a conversation about other things you enjoy that you did not do that time.

It is a cliché that men are always in the mood for sex. Yes, most men will choose sex over lots of other activities and take it if their girlfriend offers, but there are times when the average guy is just too tired or not feeling well or needs to get some work done. There is nothing wrong with saying that you don't want to have sex. However, you need to do it in a manner that lets her know you are not rejecting her.

Tell her that you are too tired, but will meet her in the shower in the morning for some love action. Or ask her to come over to your place after work for dinner and some candlelight sex. Doing this lets her know it is not about not being attracted to her, it is about the timing.

Above all, if you are not planning to be exclusive, that is something your partner needs to know before you have sex. If you are after a one night stand, you need to let her know. If you are interested in dating more than one person at a time, you need to let her know.

It is good manners to date someone exclusively if you are going to be sexually intimate. Be a gentleman and let her decide if she still wants to have sex with you if you are going to be dating other people.
